Lee Anne is a local artist from the State College area. Her education includes a Bachelors Degree in Art from Penn State University in 1993. During her time at Penn State, Lee Anne took several classes in ceramics which sparked her interest in pottery. After she graduated from Penn State, Lee Anne refined her craft and passion for working with clay while living in Annapolis, Maryland. She is inspired by vivid color and bold design. Some of her work infuses found objects with both functional and sculptural pieces.
"I am continually intrigued by the teapot form...its elements, the handle, lid and spout; enable one to create endless stories through its shape. I also enjoy the process of choosing an object with history or age and pairing it with a new form to create a piece that inspires one to ask questions."
Lee Anne has showcased her work in a variety of art shows including the annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts. Her work has also been featured in several articles in the news media. Currently, her work is available at several art galleries in the State College area, at Surface Artist Cooperative, and online. |
